Students take part in the monitoring of the Bourgas Lakes 07/22/2013

Students take part in the monitoring of the Bourgas Lakes implemented by the Boulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds. The children are the winners in the Bird Competition that was organized at the beginning of June. Since then the young people participated in the monitoring three times. The experts think that the five children show big interest in birds and they successfully use their knowledge in practice.
The involvement of students in the activities of Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds is giving good results. Nowadays former participants are among the most active volunteers or work for the protection of species and habitats as part of different teams. This is one of the best ways to raise the capacity of the non-governmental organization and to train experts.
During the last three years BSPB gave chance to the students to participate in the traditional nature conservation camp at Atanassovsko Lake. With the support and admition of their parents the young people could take part in different conservation activities. They could participate in the summer camp in August this year.
The monitoring of the Bourgas Lakes and the nature conservation camp “Atanassovsko Lake” are organized and implemented by Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds within the project “LIFE for the Bourgas Lakes” funded by EU program LIFE+.
